A local business is providing a vital commodity that keeps the crew of the Lincoln movie filming in Richmond hard at work: hot coffee.
The Black Hand Coffee Company landed a contract to provide coffee, espresso and tea for the crew of the Steven Spielberg-directed production during the two-month shoot.
“Spielberg had some of our hibiscus ice tea the other day,” Gilbert said. “I think he heard this tea was good and had an assistant come over and get some.”
"Best coffee in Richmond... They roast their own beans, making special roasts for brew coffee, espresso shots, and french press. The craft that goes into making their beverages is outstanding- from the pulling of the shots, to the pouring of the milk. This is what a coffeehouse is supposed to be: donated / found furniture, great coffee, free wifi, and service with a smirk. There are good conversations to be found, good music on, a diverse bookshelf, quality art adorning freshly painted walls, piles of bikes and usually a moped or two.
